About STRUCTURE

The category structure provides the ability to create a set of account categories. The category structure is assigned to an activity group. All account categories assigned to the structure are available for posting. The Category Structure is added and maintained via AC08. The category structure includes summary accounts, making up to 9 levels of summarization available in reports. At summary level 1, a single summary account category will represent each category type to used in the structure (Costs, Revenue, Accrual, Fee and Pass Thru). The detail account categories assigned to the category structure contain the edit flags (billing, revenue, markup, etc.). Posting activities requiring parameters differnt than those in the category structure can be added using the Account Category Assignment form (AC06).
