SodaStream Puts Sparkle into Asset Management with Infor and GIV Solutions

Infor recently announced that SodaStream, Israel-based manufacturer of consumer carbonation products, has deployed Infor CloudSuite EAM. Delivered and supported by GIV Solutions, this deployment will facilitate more proactive asset management at the manufacturer, facilitating innovation, minimizing costs and maximizing performance. SodaStream was acquired by PepsiCo Food Corp in 2018, expanding the company’s reach in 45 countries, with more than 80,000 retail stores and about 35 million consumers. With the help of Infor CloudSuite EAM, SodaStream would be able to maximize the availability of production equipment and machinery and to enhance service and response times for maintenance while reducing costs. Per the press release, the EAM system is deeply integrated into the SodaStream ERP system and the control systems of the production floor, meaning that the lifecycle of all assets can be managed fully. SodaStream is expecting to benefit from best-in-class asset management capabilities that will underpin more consistent maintenance policies across all sites and support three languages. Kevin Price, Infor technical product evangelist & product strategist for EAM, says of the deployment, “Through its deployment of Infor CloudSuite EAM, the company will be well positioned to capitalize on improvements in visibility, control and decision-making to expand market share and drive performance and profitability.”

IP Designer Series – Lawson Query Node

The Lawson query node can be used to query Lawson data using the DME format.  In the properties of the node, click “Build” to build your query.  Select the product line from which you are trying to get the data.  Select the module and the table name where the data resides.  Choose the fields that you want to see.  You will also have an opportunity to choose related fields from other tables (i.e. a description from a parent table).  You can also use an index and provide keys for your query, using either hard-coded values or an IPA variable.  On the Criteria tab, you can select other fields besides key index fields to narrow your results.  You can use the Test tab if you don’t have any variables in your query.

One would think to best minimize costs to run CRM inhouse.   2. Establish your expectations.
  3. Look for diverse experience.

Finding a vendor that checks off all these areas will take a great deal, but doing so may bring a strong advantage to your CRM system with another company.

The top 10 tech trends for 2020 in India

OurCrowd is the largest global venture investing platform in Israel. Abigail Klein Leichman from Israel21c.org was able to attend the event and learn about the latest technology trends and the impact India has made and is further making.  According to Klein, here are trends to expect in the coming years in India and worldwide.

  1. Lab steaks get tasty.  “Global demand for meat and seafood is at an all-time high. Negative environmental impact, overfishing and animal suffering has increased as meat production has grown five-fold in the last six years.”
  2. Our brains get wired. “The human brain has been evolving for millions of years. Machines have been around for only about 200 years. The new field of brain-computer (or brain-machine) interface explores how the brain can communicate with an external device. Elon Musk’s Neuralink, for example, is developing implantable brain–machine interfaces.”
  3. The race to autonomous vehicles becomes a marathon. “Just two years ago, most analysts predicted widescale deployment of autonomous vehicles by the middle of the decade. Since then, the technical challenges involved have moved out the timeline considerably. Passenger and pedestrian safety is among the biggest hurdles to overcome.”
  4. AI beats Moore’s Law. “Moore’s “law” is a prediction from 1965 that processor speeds would double every two years. This prediction was accurate for several decades and guided the semiconductor industry, said OurCrowd Partner Stav Erez. However, artificial intelligence has accelerated faster than the development of traditional processors since 2012, doubling every three and a half months.”
  5. If you are not scared of the dark, you should be. “The Dark Web is the part of the Internet that cannot be indexed by search engines such as Google. This hidden world is a hotspot for illegal activity including drugs, human trafficking and fake IDs. It has also become the preferred location for hackers to orchestrate and plant cyberattacks.”
  6. Productivity leaps ahead to discovery. “Everything that can be automated will be automated,” said Erez. “The early adopters of this trend will be software developers. They are already starting to use low-code or no-code tools. The no-code market is expected to reach $52 billion by 2024.”
  7. Looking good means feeling good. “Recent advances in computer vision and AI have created a growing wave of health-tech companies aiming to improve our lives and protect us against illness.”
  8. Robots will play nicely together. “Robots in the Fourth Industrial Revolution will have to work with one another and with people as a team. Collaborative robotics is therefore the new realm in the emerging robotics market.”
  9. Materials become material. “Innovation is being applied to both new and old materials. The Super Bowl used easy-to-recycle aluminum instead of plastic for drinks. Boeing introduced a new plane with 3D-printed turbine blades. Nissan developed a new acoustic metal material to make vehicles quieter.”
  10. Race toward quantum supremacy. “At the beginning of 2019, IBM announced IBM Q, its first-ever circuit-based commercial quantum computer. Two weeks ago, Google and IBM stated that in less than five years, quantum computers would be able to break the encryption we use today. Google estimates that there are only 800 people around the world with the knowhow to build quantum systems.”

IP Designer Series – Landmark Transaction

Use the Landmark Transaction node to query or update Landmark data.  In the properties window, select “Build” and you will be presented with a wizard to help you build your Landmark query.

Select the data area that you are querying/updating.  Select the Module and Object Name.  (HINT: these values can be found by using Ctrl+Shift+Click on the form in Rich Client or the Landmark Web UI).

Choose your action.  There are basic CRUD (create, read, update, delete) actions for each object, and there will be more actions specific to the object you selected.  Action Operator will likely be “NONE”.  Select your action type (SingleRecordQuery, MultipleRecordQuery, etc.), and finally select the criteria.  Click OK.

Decide whether to use the hardcoded values for your transaction field values.  You can supply variables here to make your flow more portable.

 

 

 

Fetim Group Improves Productivity with Infor

Dutch construction and home decor leader Fetim Group is using an Infor benchmark of 800 world-leading companies to improve its processes and workflows. Analyzing this data has helped Fetim improve productivity and workflow efficiency. Additionally, Fetim is playing an active role to improve Infor’s software and to help it better align with customer needs. This Dutch group is no stranger to Infor as they’ve worked with them in several projects. Per the press release, “Fetim’s IT architecture is built on the best-of-class principle, and the company already uses Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise, based on the Infor M3 ERP (enterprise resource planning) application and Infor CloudSuite Configure Price Quote (CPQ), a digital portal to improve the customer buying experience. It is currently rolling out Infor CRM and the acclaimed Infor Nexus to realize an online real-time collaboration platform to help improve cooperation with suppliers and to maximize the reliability of the supply chain.” Being able to influence the functionality included in newer versions of Infor’s industry CloudSuites based on Infor M3 helps Fetim make only a minimal number of modifications and quickly achieve standardized processes.

Security violation for activity group on Activities batch jobs

Security on activity groups is handled outside of LSA.  If users are getting a “security violation for activity group” when they try to add a batch job in the activities module, you will need to do a little extra security maintenance.

First, go to AC00 and make note of the value in the “Security” field.

Next, open the user’s security record in ISS or LSA and navigate to the “Company Control” field.  Click on the search and make sure that “Security” value is in the user’s company list.  If not, add it.  Then clear out the security cach and perform an IOSCacheRefresh.

Piriou Expects to Double Revenues Following Digital Overhaul

Infor recently announced that French shipbuilder Piriou has chosen Infor LN software to assist in transforming its global production, repair, and maintenance operations. The french company builds mid-sized boats for private and public use military and commercial fishing. They have decided to implement a modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system in a quest to double its revenues over the next five years. Their previous ERP system limited the company from keeping up with growing production numbers and expansion into shipyards in Africa and Vietnam. By choosing Infor LN, Piriou can better maintain their growing company and will plan a steady roll-out over the coming years, wishing to avoid a “big-bang” deployment approach. Using Infor LN, Piriou expects to increase its production volume by better optimizing its production and giving users direct visibility to component parts ordering.

Infor Completes Acquisition of Intelligent InSites

Infor has successfully completed the acquisition of Intelligent InSites, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare software and services leveraging location-based intelligence from real-time location systems (RTLS). Headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota, Intelligent InSites has customers in the US and Australia. With this acquisition, Infor will be able to offer an expanded suite of technology for organizations in the healthcare industry. Per the news announcement, Intelligent InSites solution will complement the Infor CloudSuite Healthcare footprint, enabling support across the continuum of care including clinics, urgent care, emergency departments, inpatient care, procedural care, and behavioral health.
