How to do a rngdbdump and FTP from AS400

You may come across having to dump a selection of records from AS400. To do a rngdbdump and then FTP (file transfer protocol) to your PC, follow this simple guide below.

In LID do a form transfer and enter rngdbdump in the form ID field (see screenshot).

Next, you will want to enter the DataArea, FileName Range Option and Range Keys.

Then hit return for output.

Next, select shift F8 to save to a file.

Log into  Navigator and go to the filesystem you saved the file.

Finally, drag and drop to your local directory.

And you’re done!
