A breakthrough in 3D technology is helping to improve women’s breast health, specifically early signs of breast cancer. There is a new 3D mammogram technology that may find cancers earlier, with a lower percentage of false positives being detected, Hologic CEO Steve MacMillan said. Hologic, a medical technology company, provides machines in hospitals across the country with these advanced breast screening processes in order to detect cancer earlier. The reduction in false positives has led to fewer biopsies for women who don’t actually need them, saving them costs and worry.
