About PR298
Run W-2c EFW2 (PR298) to create W2c forms for government reporting or createan EFW2c file based on "Social Security's Specifications for Filing Forms W-2cElectronically (EFW2C). For EFW2C reporting, this program only supports the file layout for submission to the Social Security Administration. **Processing Effect To create the W-2c and/or EFW2C, the PR298 program compares the output .CSVfiles from the original and the corrected run of the W-2 Form Printing (PR297)and/or EFW2 files for use as the input files for the PR298. This program cannot be run without these files. Before you submit your file, you can validate it using the AccuWage program.This program can be downloaded from the Social Security Administration website. This program checks the output from PR298 for common errors. For moreinformation, check the Social Security Administration website. NOTE: PR298 creates the EFW2 file based on the SSA's requirements. It doesnot create any State-specific EFW2c files.
