This file maintains posting-level activity balances by account category, company, accounting unit, and year in the activity group base currency. This file is updated by AC191 (AC Accounting Unit Posting). AC170 (Revenue Calculation) uses this file to determine cost and revenue amounts by accounting unit within an activity.

You must set up an activity group before you can set up activities, budgets, transactions, and inquiries. To collect costs and revenues, at least one activity must be linked to an activity group. Direct costs are posted to activities, and indirect costs are allocated to activities based on activity drivers. Activities are grouped or organized by activity levels. There are two types of activities: "posting allowed" and "summary only." Use posting level activities to budget and maintain all posted transactions. Summary activities or macro activities combine information and balances from lower level activities for reporting and inquiries.
